Local ownership. Shared curriculum. Multiplying leaders.
NLABS provides the curriculum free of charge and guidelines for establishing the Bible school; local churches and ministries bear local operational costs.
From vision to multiplication
-
A local leader casts the vision
The Director is the person who has the vision to start a Bible school, providing spiritual and practical leadership in establishing and overseeing it.
-
Build regional partnership
NLABS requires leaders to approach local pastors and churches to invite them to participate in establishing a Bible school in their region.
-
Establish the school
Each school operates on the basis of in-person classes in a centralised location, supported by a small administrative committee.
-
Access the curriculum
Once NLABS receives the school name, number of students, and start date, it provides a passcode for accessing the online course materials.
-
Teach with active learning
Students prepare at home, and class time is devoted to questions, discussion, and reinforcing understanding — the method NLABS recommends.
-
Assess and certify
Each course concludes with an open-book quiz (pass mark 70%). Completed courses determine who qualifies to receive certificates.
-
Multiply
Graduates grow in knowledge and are equipped to lead — and, in turn, to train others in their regions.
How teaching works.
NLABS offers two teaching models; it recommends active learning.
Passive learning
The traditional method: the instructor prepares material and delivers it as a lecture, students take notes, and learning largely takes place after the lesson.
Active learning [recommended]
Students familiarize themselves with the lesson at home and arrive prepared with questions. Class time focuses on discussion, questions, and group work — deepening understanding and retention.
Lessons are currently available in English; schools may translate materials through a trusted translator. [TBD — confirm translation status / language roadmap]
